                                           My Holiday Reflection Week 2

                                            Camp
Again this week I have been going to a Holiday programme and  I have just come back from camp!!! It was AMAZING! I went on a water slide it was massive and I was petrified and I went on a flying fox and Sling shot paintball and I shot guns and I did Archery there too an the rocket which is a boat that's going super fast at full speed and there the rocket thing and there this little handle bar thing you hold onto and the person driving the boat is trying to get you off I did not fall off once!  And I also built a raft and we had to swim it back to camp my team came first and we learnt it's better to make the shape of a raft in a triangle and we swam 1.8km with the raft and it took twenty six minutes!

                                       Maths
For Maths I did some baking with my holiday programme.We had to measure the right amount of flour and baking powder and things like that we used measuring cups to work out how much we needed. In the end everything taste great :) I also got a SLIVER medal on Mathletics!

                                      Writing
As you can see up the top I have alot of things to write about I should have the writing pieces ready soon :)

My Holiday Week 1 Reflection

                      My Holiday Week 1 Reflection
During this week I have been going to a holiday programme. This week I went to the Te Awamutu pools and and the luge and I went to a pampering girl day I wrote a storey about them the links are down below⬇. 
                                   Maths
I have been practising some times tables a bit maybe well I have been thinking about them in my head and stuff I don't know if that counts though and I have also been practising my big times tables I will be sure to glue it into my homebook and I am going to start to time them to see how fast I can do them!. I also got A N O T H E R bronze medal on Mathletics!.

                                   Writing
For Writing I have been wI canriting storeys about what I did at the holiday programme I wrote about the Te Awamutu Pools and the Luge and The pamerpering girl day here are the links !

Next week I will have something awsome to write about because I am going on a camp with the holiday programme and It's three nights and four days so I can write about it !


                                     Reading
For Reading my goal was to have finished the book Wonder I didn't finish it! I just have a quater of the book to finish! I am reading the part about Justin It's a bit sad actually I hope I finish the book before May!.

         My Reflection Week 11

                        Maths

For Maths we have been playing risk and practising big times tables and we are doing the times table grids with Mrs Bryant I got 100% today so I got all the times tables done next term I was wondering if we could start timing them to see who’s the fastest and who has the most correct and also I got ANOTHER bronze medal on Mathletics.

                          Reading

I am still reading the book wonder I reckon I will be able to finish it before the end of the first week of the school holidays So far August has made a really good friend called Summer. Summer does not care how his face looks she just wants to be her friend. I trying to find other good authors but I can’t seem to find more! We are going to the Waipa District Library in the holidays so we can try find some more good books there.

                           Writing

We have not been doing anything for writing this week but I am going to try write lots of juicy storeys in the holidays and I am going to try fit some words in from my spelling list!.

                                      Spelling

Today I got test on list U for spelling I don’t know if I have passed I don’t know if I will continue on the other lists if I do I am not sure anyway I am going to practise all the other lists before and up to list U to make sure I actually know them all and look up the meanings to and then I am going to write a storey with some of my spelling words I have learnt. If I am not aloud to go up the lists I would like to have words in front of me I have to some how include in my writing that makes sense.

For Inquiry we have been learning about King Tawhiao we made a google slide and a movie maker here is the link to my google slide King Tawhiao
If you can't acess this slide here is the information I had on it King Tawhiao made up the treaty he decided that after the war they were going to need a plan to stop this from happening again that’s when he had a plan to make a treaty and the people that signed had to obey the rules. King Tawhiao decided  he would pay a visit to the queen of Victoria. Queen Victoria allowed King Tawhiao to give out the treaty and let people sign it not all chiefs got to sign it.The treaty is still here after all these years I hope the treaty will last longer than I’ll ever live.

Biking Adventure

In Week 7 Kahikatea got to go to Pirongia Mountain to either do Biking Or Hiking I chose Biking there was a little kid track which only took about two minutes not even that to do it there was one where there's a hill and there's a tyre and it felt like you were flying like a bird. There was another track called easy as but I found it quite easy when I was the only one on the track! there was two hills it was impossible to get up so I did the best thingI couldI got off my bike and walked my bike up the hill. There was another track called Hard core I did not go on it because I just came backfrom another trip and I missed out I hope I will get to try it again it was a great exprience full sweat blood and tears.

For Maths we have been learning about how to get the answer to big times tables for example

29 x 5 = 145

20 x 5 = 100

9 x 5 = 45

100 + 45 = 145 so 29 x 5 = 145

So that’s the strategy method we have been using to work out the larger times tables this week for times tables I have been practising my 4x tables! Also I earned ANOTHER bronze medal on Mathletics!

For Writing we have been publishing or writing I have published my Waimarino Water Park Story and my Food Writing here are the links to it Food Writing   Waimarino Water Park My food writing that was or first ever piece of writing and the Waimarino Piece was my smilie piece Writing is one of my favourite subjects I like publishing on the computer and plus I can type really fast and I love doing these reflections as well :)

For Reading I have been reading Animalcom but it’s not the right sort of book for me today at the library I got out two books I got out Wonder and another one I forgot the name Emily Bathgate suggest to me though know I am starting to read wonder it’s a great start to the book it definitely has a hook it’s sort of like Judy Blume books in a way.

For spelling I am hoping to pass list T never even knew I could be this good at spelling I will be amazed how far I get at the end of the year I hope I pass list and I have had the spelling cup twice!.

Ohh I almost forgot I also had my learning conference this week I think it went very well and I am settling in this class very well :). Keira's Learning Conference

For Maths I have been playing risk when we have our game rotations I am not sure if I have explained about it already I don’t think I have I will explain it anyway. For this game the equipment you will need is a white board a white board pen a dice and a buddy or more you can play with lots of people does not really matter how many people play. So you have to draw up a grid like this

There is an evil number so this time we will say the evil number is two if the number rolls on a two the game stops. So lets pretend I am rooling the dice and it lands on a four I can write four where it says R in the first box I roll again and the numberis 6 so I right 6 in the box and I roll again and it rolls on a two the game stops and I get zero points because I did not bank then you go onto I and I roll a two I just roll again and the number is 3 I right three and I roll a 2 then a 6 then a 1 I get to keep all the points so I twelve points so far and then I go onto R and I roll and there is a 6 put six on the box and if I think a two is coming next i stand up and say BANK and you get to keep the 6 points and then I would do K but I guess you get what I am trying to say now :) I got a sliver on Mathletics !

For Writing we have been learning about Meophor it’s when you say something IS something instead of using like or as here’s and example of a sentence The rocket IS a shooting star. We also published our writing jucy smilie sentence here’s the link to it Waimarino Water Park Smile Story One of the smilies was My toes started to swell up like jelly fish.

                                                 Reading

For reading I have been reading Princess Dis Grace it’s about a girl called Grace and she arrives at Tall Towers there was only supposed to be 12 princess like there always is every year but there was 13 with Grace the princess Grace really wanted to stay so they decided they would let the unicors decide ifa unicorn cameout and up to her she could stay at tall Towers one came to her and it was as scrrufy as her she was so glad she could stay at tall towers and learn how to be a proper princess!. Kayla also let me borrow AniMalcom by David Baddel I have just started reading it!. I also hade a reading test with Mr Gemmell It think I did read quite well it’s just I ussually read to fast that’s what I have done for my past test I am more of a person who likes to read in there head.

                                                  Spelling

For spelling I am on list S I am waiting to get the results I felt neverous about my test I think i got most of them  right I hope I do pass to list T !

My Reflection Week 7

For maths I have being playing the area game with Kayla and Emily.Ba we finished the game but we didn’t get to count up the points :( that’s alright though next maths session we will be able to and see who won! A Lot of this kept happening this is an example say if I rolled a three and a two the next person would have there roll and they would get a three and a two ! and sometimes if we were lucky the next person rolled a three and a two!. One more thing I got ANOTHER bronze medal!!!!!!! :).

                                       Reading

For reading I have been reading The long Haul by Jeff Kinney and Old School by Jeff Kinney I finished the long Haul It was about Greg and his family Greg’s mother (Susan) found and ad for a holiday place to Greg had to sit in the back and he was cramped because of all the stuff over flowing they kept driving and let the sun roof down while Greg was eating chips he threw one out to the bird the next thing they knew there was a bird in the car wanting more so Greg threw another one hoping it would go away but no the bird flew up to Greg and tried to snatch the pack of Greg but Greg had a firm grip on there he wasn’t going to let go so the pack ripped and half and went every where! I have nearly finished old school diary of a wimpy kid it’s about a boy where he and his friend Rowley sell lemonade and they brought limes instead of lemons like he was supposed to so people tried it and said it was butter and someone complained saying that they were using the same glass for each customer so they customers would not even pay them one cent !.

                                             Writing

We got given a sheet and we had to fill it out we had to pick A time when we felt fear I picked something I have already written about before but it’s going to be completely different we had to write what we could see hear and feel our goal is to come up with smiles so I came up with this awesome one here is is Goosebumps crawled up my arms like spiders. What I could see blury vesions and hear faint sounds of people cheering my name. I just came up with another smilie here it is My eyes started to puff up around the outsides like a jelly fish. So those are diffently smilies I am going to include in my writing piece!.

                                           Spelling

I hope I can remeber to put a lower case (p) so I can move up to list R where elven year olds are supposed to be !

                                    Maths

For Maths we have been learning to find a fraction Mr Gemmell wrote down some fractions and we had to put them in order from smallest to biggest say for example if the fractions were ½ ¼ ⅛ 1/21 the smallest one would be 1/21 because let's say one pizza was cut into 21 pieces the pieces would not be big at all and you would only get one of those little pieces of pizza the next one would be ⅛ it’s slightly bigger then 1/21 and ¼ is a quarter so you would get a quarter of the pizza and ½ is the biggest because it’s one whole pizza cut in half so you get a whole half which is the biggest. I got a sliver on Mathletics!.

                                Writing

For writing we have been looking at smiles we had to write a piece of anything we wanted as long as it had lots of juicy sentences when it was green pen time I had a hard time thinking of words I could put in because I was writing good words like manoeuvred and I included eight smilies!. Including (The goosebumps crawled up my arms like spiders) Another one I think was That’s when my life jacket started to hug my thight like I was in bed snuggled under the covers.

                            Reading

This week I have been reading Charlotte’s Web I am just past halfway of the book I really enjoying it it’s a pity E.B White did not write any more of those books I find it really cool how Fern can interact with the animals and talk to them and I really like Charlotte and Wilbur Charlotte she created webs saying all sort of massages because they were going to shot the pig so Charlotte came up with an excellent plan everyday she would write messages into the web like “some pig” and “terrific” and “radiant”. When were doing book talk I asked Kayla if I could borrow her book to read it’s about animals I can’t wait to read it !.

                         Spelling

I am so excited I don’t know if I will pass list R my mum tested me on list R and I got all them right!  I hope I will succeed again!

                            Maths

For Maths we have added a new rotation activity called the area game!. I played with Emily Ba and Kayla it’s where you roll two dice and say if the number was a 5 and a 6 it would be 5x6=30 so you could do 5 across the page or 5 up the page or 6 across the page or 6 up the page and it equals 30 so you take up thirty squares and you can’t touch another person's square! If you do you count up how many squares you have and whoever has the most wins I want to tell you something quickly I earned another bronze medal!.

                          Reading

For reading I have been reading the world’s worst children by David Walliams and The phoenix of destiny by Elisabetta Dami Sadly I have come to an end reading all of David Walliams books:( In the world’s worst children's book my favourite part was when the girl in the book she was watching tv and she never got up off the couch so one day she got attached to the couch!.

                         Spelling

At the start of the year I was on List N now I am on Q I

am quite nervous about today because if I pass list Q I will be on list R and that’s where eleven year olds are supposed to be! And I only just turned ten! And I see list R is very hard but I am prepared that just means more practise which is good because spelling is one of my favourite subjects. Bring it on spelling :).

                       Writing

We have not done any writing this week really but we have been working on our word work yesterday (Thursday the 9th of March 2017) Mrs Bryant told us a sentence I think it was The neighbours play in the rain. We had to have a capital letter for the T and leave spaces between the words and get the words correct I got neighbours right but I forgot to put a lower cause (p)! I have also been practise writing at home and putting lots of words in to make it juicy!
